Just like the story of Aschenputtel (Cinderella), Midnight Strikes is an unexpected favorite, even if you’ve never had a Schwarzbier. Schwarzbier originated from southern Thuringen and northern Franconia in Germany and is a variant of the Munich Dunkel style. Sometimes referred to as a “black pilsner,” this beer is rarely that dark and doesn’t have strong roasted or porter-like flavors.
