On the night of 5 December the Krampus hovering between the streets and alleys of the Alpine countries, covered with the skins of Rams with horns and goat legs, waving their black chains terrorizing villagers. It is a prelude to the arrival of St. Nicholas Bishop (an ancient precursor of Santa Claus) who will bring peace and gifts to the community.
