Beschreibung
A smooth medium-full bodied dark lager with a complex malty sweetness with a prominent roasty flavor and hints of dried dark fruit. Mouth-filling and smooth with a clean lager character and warming alcohol. Finishes slightly dry with hints of coffee and crème brûlée.
Baltic Porters are a very distant cousin to the original London porter. Like India Pale Ales, they originated as stronger versions of Porter brewed to withstand a long voyage east. When brewers in Poland and other Baltic states began brewing this style it was re-interpreted as a lager. Baltic porters are quite rich and strong and often made with lager yeast rather than the traditional ale variety.
